Rest of the day you can explore the resort, go swimming or fishing – Vuokatti has plenty of choice.

The canyons of Hiidenportti alone are an impressive sight but you will be also astonished by shady spruce forests and flowery meadows. The park has many fascinating places and local guide will tell you about the nature and interesting story about a demon called Hiisi who has given his name to the National Park. Coffee and delicious snacks by an open fire included. Route length approximately 3 km. After the hike drive back to Vuokatti.

DAY 5

Day five will be enjoyed on the water. A different way to explore nature is by taking a canoeing trip. Finland can be called the Paradise of Paddlers, because of the clean water, thousands of islands, small rivers, and rich nature. You can choose between 3 persons canoe and 1 persons kayak. Before heading out to the lake, our guide will teach you paddling techique. Juice and delicious snacks by an open fire included. This paddling excursion suits well also for beginners.

DAY 6

Welcome to Finnish wilderness where you can experience Europes’ largest carnivore in the nature! The Brown Bear (Ursus Arctos) is the national symbol of Finland and can weight up to 300kg. Truly an unforgettable experience and the best opportunity to take the shot of a lifetime from the comfort and safety of our specially designed hides.

Our first-class wild animal observation place is located near Vuokatti in Viiksimo, Kuhmo. In this area, large carnivores have been photographed for over 30 years as it provides an excellent opportunity to see and photograph wolverines, bears and wolves. Especially wolverines and bears are frequent visitors of this area.

At 2pm transfer from Vuokatti to Viiksimo. You’ll be escorted to a wooden hide where you can safely wait for the appearance of the bears. There is one seat for everyone with a camera hole and the hide has a dry toilet. Packed picnic food is provided for the evening. After magical evening accompanied by bears, at 9.30pm you will be escorted back to our bus and transfer back to Vuokatti.

DAY 7

After watching magnificent bears yesterday evening, the last day in Vuokatti can be spent by your own wishes. Maybe you will have another hike or just relax and go for a swim in one of our pure lakes.
